After 6 months of not being able to do any DSO imaging, I finally caught a break! I went up to Yosemite National Park, and shot two targets. I imaged from Glacier Point- a beautiful lookout over half dome. Dark skies, altitude, and the best views on Earth. What more could you want? More jackets maybe.
I'm quite pleased with how this picture turned out, despite it being a rather small target for my telescope. I think that the high altitude, coupled with freezing temperatures made some of the smaller detail pop. Having less atmosphere to deal with is always a good thing for smaller targets.
